WITNESSES OF JEHOVAH: THE SALESMEN OF GOD!

Translated from the original by Mary Routsias

What should not be forgotten and overlooked is the fact that Jehovah’s Witnesses belong to an Organisation. Therefore, when somebody opens his door to a Jehovah’s witness, he/she should know that behind the smiley and benevolent individual who is standing before his/her eyes, there exists an entire Organisation; an unscrupulous Organisation under the name of “Watchtower” aiming at trapping as many innocent victims as possible, with profit as its ultimate goal...

This is obvious from their haste to leave nothing to chance. They take notice even of minor details with which they believe they can trap their potential victims. Thus, they consider the issue of appearance of Jehovah’s Witnesses, as one of the most important points of their work. Hence, the Organisation has been calling attention to this issue by giving appropriately selected guidelines by means of its publications, so that Jehovah’s Witnesses can derive the appropriate attitude.
The documents therefore that we mention below, which are taken from the publications of the Organisation “Watchtower”, even though they appear and are ridiculous indeed, not only do they prove the truth of the lines, but they also show what we pointed out above about how unscrupulous the Organisation is. Additionally, they reveal that the organisation does not mind being ridiculed and it doesn’t care if its members are ridiculed as long as it achieves its aim by finding new victims.
Thus, in the issue of the Organisation called “Book of the Year 1985” (Greek Edition), on the page with the date Saturday, 19th October, “Watchtower” exceeding every limit of ridicule, prompts the miserable Jehovah’s Witnesses to check, if… they have polished their shoes! , if… they have cleaned any stains from their tie! , if…. they have sewed any missing buttons!:

“The clothes that we have now, no matter how humble they are, they will be enough if they are clear, ironed and tidy. If you are wearing a jacket, have you sewed the buttons that have been cut out? If you’re wearing a tie, have you cleaned all the stains? If you’re wearing shoes suitable for your job, have you polished them? Remember that your clean appearance will gain the respect for the “good news”. Watchtower 1/6/83 17a

And the ridicule of the Organisation together with the humiliation of human dignity of Jehovah’s Witnesses continues, with the next extract, that we fished from another issue of the Organisation under the title “Benefit from Theocratic Ministry School Education” (Greek Edition). This is one of the secret books of the Company in which Jehovah’s Witnesses are trained and which is not given to people who have not been initiated into the Organisation. Well, in this book, an entire chapter, and more specifically chapter 15, is dedicated to good personal appearance and to how important this is throughout the process of “pioneering” or “service of the field” (this is how the Organisation calls the door-to-door preaching mission of its members).
On pages 132 and 133 the “Watchtower” draws attention to the witnesses’ hair! , not to be unshaved!, and if they have a moustache the are prompted to take good care of it, keep it tidy and… well-trimmed!

“For the men, the good-looking personal appearance can mean that they are wellshaved. In regions where moustache is widely acceptable as something decent, whoever has a moustache he is supposed to keep it tidy and well-trimmed.”

At this point, allow us to make the following comment. Imagine Paul, Peter, Barnabas and the other apostles, with whom the “Watchtower” has the audacity to compare its members, deal with their hair and beard and the other trivialities the Organisation pays attention to, in order to make a supposedly good impression. And moreover, what is good appearance useful for? Here lies the question of faith. You are supposed to go to someone else in order to speak to him for the most important things that exist in the world, that is to say for Christ and God, things which his salvation depends on. You are not a salesman of some merchandise. You, are not selling napkins and toilet paper at the time, neither the X detergent that removes all the stains and makes everything white, so that you need to have a decent appearance in order to influence the others to buy your product. This is what is said and unfortunately it is deceit of others, and it is a pity that the miserable members of the Organisation do not perceive it. On the contrary, they believe that they carry out divine work!

Truly, how right Lord was, when he warned us to beware of such people, who, while they come with clothes of sheep, inside they are wolves predatory. Matthew 7:15.
